Sport

Sports students can look forward to a range of opportunities including playing sport at a competitive level, working with external clients and employers including sports clubs, organisations and education authorities. There will also be opportunities to go on exciting trips including sports matches, crazy golf to paintballing.

Courses available at the college range from Level 2 to Level 3. We also offer a number of university-level business qualifications at the college’s Vision University Centre.

The sports hall provides students with the space to play sport, train and learn all under one roof.
Students have access to industry-standard sports and gym equipment to gain a real insight into the sports industry.
Students have the opportunity to learn more about the science behind sport, including therapy for sport.
Students inspired by football coach Jordan

In 2016, Jordan Ferrer, community officer at Mansfield Town FC’s Football in the Community (FITC) programme, visited West Nottinghamshire College to teach would-be instructors.

He delivered sessions to learners on its NVQ Level 2 Activity Leadership and BTEC Level 1 Diploma in Sport and Active Leisure courses, looking at the skills and techniques needed to coach primary school children by incorporating different coaching methods.
